So what's the big deal about DMB anyway? Won't say they're terrible, can't say I like them, just seems some people think they're close to Godliness for some reason. Just wondering.

forget all the DMB they play on the radio..(especially stuff from 'everyday') until you've heard an epic live Seek Up or energy packed live Grey Street, Two Step or #41 you have no idea what DMB is all about

busted stuff will debut at #1, i promise! :)

Grey Street and You Never Know from this album own me

Valhalla - good taste in music.

DMB isn't for everyone, but they certainly have a great deal of talent.

Some of their songs have been massively overplayed... but listen to #41, Seek Up, any of their live tracks...woo.

What kind of music does DMB make? I mean, no-one knows of 'em in Europe! Is it something like "The sound of DMB is something like Bruce Springsteen coming out of my ass".

It was actually leaked on June 25th: story

Incorrect. I know who leaked it, he is a friend in real life. Read the last sentence in that paragraph, it says:
Dave Matthews Band's sixth major release -- is scheduled for release on July 16, just eight days from the date of the leak.

The date Nancies has at the top is wrong, it should read, July 8. Also, if you read the 2nd story, it is also dated July 8, 2002....

yeah the nancies date is wrong.. it was *partially* leaked a few weeks back, but the tracks were chopped up and filled with gaps.

last night shortly after midnight is when the files hit the net, trust me I was watching the progress of the leak closely on antsmarching.org and bustedstuff.com message boards. (was leaked by some kid named Luke and spread around quickly to a couple server admins)

I've tried... it can't be done.

that's my experiences thus far anyways..

So what's the big deal about DMB anyway? Won't say they're terrible, can't say I like them, just seems some people think they're close to Godliness for some reason. Just wondering.

I agree, very strange!

Is this a new studio release??? B/C Everday was JUST released last year if I'm not mistaken. Anyway, EVERYDAY seriously blew goat balls. The only good track on their was Sleep to Dream Her and Angel.

My favorites though are #42, Two Step, Cry Freedom, Warehouse, Dancing Nancies, Stone, and Dreaming Tree.

That new song they play on the radio "where you are, is where I belong...I do know, where you go, is where I want to be...where are you going..." Is that going to be on this CD?

Anyway, DMB is my favorite band in the world...but John Mayer has got some good shiznit :D

can't people like a band!?
I mean it's not like DMB is the ONLY band that has 'godly worshipping' fans.

I love their music personally, hugely talented group! ;)

Judge them on their live concerts. I've been watching them live since '93-94 (somewhere around there). If you judge them on their radio songs, you don't have a clue what DMB is all about. It's about 15+ minute jam songs, not the songs that push records sales (radio songs).

Yeah, it is a new release. Everyday came out in the spring of 2k1 I believe, so it's a little strange this new one is coming out so early.

And yeah, that song is on this CD.

They're a good live band, they have character. I haven't listened to any of their stuff lately, and don't intend to.

Everyday was a mistake....the band tried to go in a new direction to add a different sound to their music....it didn't work. Busted Stuff is based on songs from an un-released album called Lillywhite Sessions (named after the guy who produced the album, Steve Lillywhite). That "album" was leaked on the internet around the same time Everyday came out (I think a week after Everyday). This Lillywhite album wasn't mastered by the band and had a very raw sound to it. A very loose sound to it. It was reported that Dave was an alcoholic around the time it was made and was shelved due to its dark nature (lyrically)......Many DMB fans took to it calling it their best album yet. This Busted Stuff album is DMB's way of fixing the music that wasn't finished.

Actually, with Red Dawn, no one else can have an opinion. It's not allowed. That is, unless you're a subscribed member.
