Texas, have you never once smoked pot?

You know, I agree with some of the stuff you say on AT, especially when it comes to sharing your experience with corporate America over the years, but in order to make a qualified statement on this topic I need some background from you.

To be fair, I will say that I have indeed smoked pot before and in my pretty lengthy experience it is less harmful than both alcohol and nicotine, thus I would be inclined to bail her out.

Yes, I smoked pot. This was when I was 14 and 15 years old.

There's a difference between supporting your family and being an "enabler".

That is what I am worried about. That baby girl will develop a "daddy will bail me out" attitude.

No. I will not bail you out.

You were warned to stay away from drugs, now take responsibility for your choices.

LOL I love how these liberals just let the police and justice system do their parenting for them. Take some personal responsibility!

I don't really have a problem with people doing "softcore" drugs like pot and stuff, but I will call you an idiot if you're dumb enough to leave your own house with it.

TH, you should have raised your daughter better than that man, come on. I probably wouldn't be too mad if my future kids smoke pot, but I'll fucking murder them if they get arrested for having it on their person in public. (unless by then it's totally legal in the US)

Where's pics of the daughter so we can decide?

And I'd be more surprised if he was on a non-nuclear submarine.

Taking responsibility should have started with you using birth control. Texashiker children:\

She sounds like the typical 18 year old chick. She needs to learn the life lessons that actions have consequences. She will get it by age 30 I'm thinking. That's usually when people decide to grow a brain (again).

<serious thread>

My daughter, who lives with my exwife and is 18 years old got arrested for possession of K2.

Because I did not bail my daughter out of jail, they (two of my sons and daughter) accuse me of not loving them and not standing by them unconditionally.

I tried to teach my kids the world does not owe them anything. Nor do I owe them anything. Just because I am a parent does not mean I am going to bail you out or pay for your mistakes.

My two sons are 25 and 27 years old. They think they can blow their money and are living with my ex-wife.

I work, try to provide for my family, those who do not try throw sticks at me. I am just tired of it.

Ok, if you feel the need tell me how terrible of a parent I am.

Not posted in love and relationship because this is also about life in general. The difference between those who try and those who stand there with their hand out.

Is your daughter hot? I'll bail her out because women are just sex objects.

Seriously. Now his own kid is suckling the government teat, getting free room and board at the taxpayer's expense.

I don't know what I would do. It would depend on how much I trusted they learned their lesson and whether or not they were a good overall kid or not.

Is she normally good and this is her first offense? Or has she been getting in trouble for the last few years?

Why didn't mom bail her out?
How much was bail?
How long was jail before she was released?

This is why we need a performance bond before folks are allowed to breed.

I'll always provide my kids ONE get out of jail free card. I'll handle the first bail out. But after that, good luck. No age limit.

See me with questions.

I feel so torn on this. I don't know your relationship with your daughter but I just can't see myself letting my future child sit in jail. Granted it sounds like there are issues there so I don't know what I would do if I was in your position. She's 18 I assume there's no law saying she can't live with you right?

If you do care about her maybe you should look into forcing her to live with you so you can help her right herself. If she says not maybe some people just cannot be helped.

Have you ever been in prison? I dont want my kids there. EVER.

Disagree. I'd leave my kid there overnight if they pulled the same thing TH's kid did. If TH's ex-wife and other kids don't like it, they can pony up and bail her out.

If I were God, and I'm not of course, but if I were and one of my "kids" decided to climb K2 just because it's there, or because they seek other idiots, errr I mean human's approval I would totally let them fall to their death if they slipped.

Who gives a shit about some dumbass climbing k2? You gonna risk your neck for other people's approval? Peer pressure? Seriously? Fuck off I'm totally letting you risk death horribly to prove a point. I could miracle your ass to safety as you're falling, but then how would anyone else learn not to climb mountains?

Now if it was illegal to climb k2 and you got arrested doing it, I'd totally let you risk getting shanked because again, and I can't stress this enough, fuck all yall mofos any dang how.

Does K2 have another name?

I thought I knew my drug street names, and this don't ring a bell.

Why would you let an innocent girl - your daughter no less - spend a night in a jail?
Yep. He said it himself:

Depending on the law of the land, people are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Just because someone has been accused of breaking the law does not mean they are guilty.

Edit:
This search is bringing up some gems. A 34 year old screwing a 14 year old is a "lapse in judgement".

A couple of years ago a registered sex offender was renting the house across the street from where I live. The guy was convicted of having sex with a 14 or 15 year old girl, when he was something like 34 years old.

He served something like 10 years in prison, but before the conviction he served in the marines.

He did something he knew was wrong, and now he is going to be labeled a sex offender for the rest of his life. As far as I know, he was a law abiding citizen, except for that one mistake.

The guy did not kill the girl, he did not rape her, did not kidnap her,,, and now he is labeled for life.

Someone has a lapse of judgement, and they are punished for the rest of their lives, how does that make sense?

I wonder how many people are forced into a life of crime because they can not find gainful employment due to a mistake they made 10, 15 even 20 years ago?
