So, how did you guys meet?

My main theory is that the method of asking out strangers in a bar or club is an almost failure. It is through your friends that you get hooked up with that special someone.

The problem in my current situation is that my few female friends don't think along the same lines as I do and my guy friends are single, so can't get their gfs to suggest their friends.

So, how did you meet your current bf/gf/spouse?

My last girlfriend I met at a party. It was a party down at the shore, we fooled around, I didn't think I'd ever see her again(not that I didn't want to), but then it turned out she only lived 20 minutes from me.

My most serious girlfriend is the weirdest story. She accidentally text messaged my cell phone(put wrong number in), I was bored out of my mind(was doin somethin for school) so I made small talk...then a few days later she showed up at Circuit City where I worked. Turns out she was hot...haha.
 
We met through an Activites Club. Was a club that planned events like movies, sports events, etc and people could sign up to go. She worked there and I joined. Met on my second event or so and have been together ever since.
 
My wife and I met at a bar...well kind of a bar, It was at a hotel and they had a fancy dinner and karoake thing going on and I went down there with my buddy's and walla..ended up married.
 
Was out chasing tail with some rugby buddies and ended up sittig next her at a bar. That was almost 10 years ago.
 
he was step bros best friend in high school, i hated him then, he hated me then.
after he graduated and stopped hanging out with my step brother, we got to talking, etc. We have been dating for 4.5 years and are getting married in about 190 days!
 
I had moved to a new town and didn't know anyone. So, I started a "singles" club. It wasn't a dating service, we just had meetings at RoundTable, ate pizza, drank beer and planned group outings.
We go to concerts, hiking, just various day trips.
 
We met at a mutual friend's wedding. I'm not sure I agree with your basic premise, though - I have met a few long-term GFs at bars and under similar circumstances.

I've been curious about people who have actually met and had a meaningful relationship from an online meeting.
