I checked my site earlier today and couldn't access it, so I thought it was just some temporary downtime for my server, it's still down and it's been two hours.

I can't access www.dathorn.com either, that worries me a bit. Is it working for anybody else or did they hire Sean an as a business manager?

P.S. This is the alerta uptime for it, shows it as being fine... http://uptime.alertra.com/

EDIT: Thanks for the link nukefarmer.
All of our own site, forums, etc. are currently down and it's going to be a somewhat long process to get all of this back to normal operation (several days). All customer servers should be operating just fine and we will continue to make sure it stays this way. There will be more information available on http://69.56.244.29/ within the next hour or so. For the time being you can use that address to stay up-to-date and we will also be setting up a support e-mail address to try and continue support as best as we can without our ticket system.

Appears they are having problems again, at theplanet datacenter? I cannot believe the problems lately, I'm gonna have to start looking into a new host :frown:

My dathorn hosted site Neffing.com is working but it seems slow for me (what about you?)

Meanwhile fox302.com which is hosted by UltraUnix.net ($13.99 for 2.5GB/25GB) server specs (Dual XEON, 2GB, 2x36GB located at the CyberWurx data center in Atlanta, GA) loads very quickly.

Yeah, I think anything hosted at TP is having speed issues today. I can get to my sites, but it takes FOREVER.

I'll be up and running at GNAX by the end of the week, hopefully, so that will be nice.

Ya, my sites load VERY slow - as does neffing.com from here. I like dathorn, but they have had WAY to many problems for me since I signed on, I'll be looking for a simliar hosting plan: CPanel/WHM, ~$15/month, multiple domains, etc etc. I'll check out ultraunix.net - i'm big on good support - how are they?

I am very envious of you and DeviousTrap for having GNAX servers. One day I'll get one :)

WannaFly - UltraUnix unfortunately has been disapppointing when it comes to support. Issues are resolved with friendly responses but it's their response time which is most troubling. I have submitted 2 tickets yesterday and today, one took 2 hours 59 minutes the other took over 2 hours. dathorn usually responds within 15-30 minutes in my experience.

Also look at Mesopia.com and BlueWho.com

If you don't use a lot of resources then go with BlueWho.com SEARCH WHT you'll find nothing but praise for BlueWho.com

No dathorn.com updates for 2 days :(

3/9/2004 @ 6:43PM CST - By Andrew T.
The network issues at The Planet have now been resolved for the past 30 minutes or so and hopefully it will remain this way. These were caused by a DoS attack the affected every server on the router that we are on (it wasn't just us that was down). To help alleviate this in the future we've already purchased some additional DoS/flood protection hardware that will be installed later this week.

Unfortunately, as we were about to begin examining what data was left on the drive for dathorn.com/gzo.com, one of techs at RackShack (ev1servers.net) managed to format the wrong drive. We don't even stand a chance at recovering anything on there now. Currently this site is being hosted at The Planet which didn't help today's issues any. We're going to be changing to offsite DNS servers and will be transfering this domain back to RackShack so that we don't have these problems again. Our new DNS will also allow us to move these two domains very quickly. Once this is done we will begin restoring as much of the data as we can. However, to do this is going to require some input from every customer as we are missing different data from each so we will end up placing a basic form here on the site once we are prepared to handle this so please keep checking this page.

I realize that this may be a bit of an inconvenience to some of you and by all means it certainly is to us. But looking ahead, this will turn out for the better as it has given us a good opportunity to redo things that needed to be changed. We are definetly here for the long run and will be "back" better than ever.

The Planet is currently experiencing some network issues and their network engineers are working to resolve them as quickly as possible.

Update @ 2:55PM - I've not been able to find out many details of what exactly is going on but Will C., The Planet's lead network engineer, is still working on this. Additionally, there is no need to send us e-mails regarding these issues as we are not going to respond to every single e-mail (there are hundreds of them at this point). Obviously we all know that there are problems and that they are being worked on as best as they can.

Right now we're working on the old drive for all of the dathorn.com data and may end up sending it to a data retrieval company to see if they can do anything with it. The last thing that we want to do at this point is to try and rebuild the missing portions and having to get every customer involved in the process. Other than that, it's business as usual. If you need any help/support/customer service simply e-mail support@dathorn.com.
