DataLocker IronKey encrypted drive not working on Macs

I have purchased a DataLocker (previously Imation) IronKey H300 Basic encrypted hard drive and it seems to work fine on Windows 10, Mac OS X 10.6, and Mac OS X 10.7, but neither of my Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan machines see the drive at all. It doesn't even show up in Disk Utility.

Anyone else see this behaviour? Their listed specifications claim it supports Mac OS X 10.5 and later.

The other annoyance is that there is no exFAT support, just FAT32 and NTFS support, but I can deal with that.
