Data Transfer from T20 laptop to desktop PC??

Is there a simple way to hook up my laptop to my desktop PC through the serial or parallel port? I've heard of laplink.com, any other suggestions or software other than that?

laptop: win2k
desktop: winme

Set up a direct cable connection using the networking features of the operating systems.

use a laplink type parallel cable or a crossoverca cat5 cable if you got a NIC in each

win2k does not have the direct cable connection feature ... also I'm trying to get this doen without a nic card on either system.

any help?
