is there any way to recover data from a striping raid setup? i don't have the same raid card now, or is this a waste of my time? it was an ide raid setup. does each raid card send data their own way or is it standarized?

If you're talking about one of the HDD dying NO. You cannot recover it. But if it's a matter of replacing the RAID Card then maybe if you are using the same RAID card brand for replacement.

You may still be able to recover as i know my AMI SCSI raid card saves the config to the HD as well as the card.
Not sure about IDE though.

If a HD died and you weren't running RAID 5 (Striping with Parity) you cannot recover.

I don't know about changing RAID cards.
