I have a hosed Windows 2000 Server - I have done everything via ERD - it is gone, and no we don't have a backup - but the data is mission critical, I use to have a program called ERD commander at my former employer, however, it is not cheap for the program. I need some kind of alternative solution to ERD commander that is free - please help me out here ASAP. I just need to backup the data from the drives (Which are logically intact) and get it out of there to a USB External Device.
 
Have you tried using a bootable Linux CD to get the data off yet? For example Knoppix to see the data and then copy them over to a USB drive?
 
That about True Image, i save my backups to different storages, mainly to DVD or USD drives. It isn't free, as you want, but it is reliable and has a trial.
