Data Recovery --- Partition Rebuild - HOW ? Using Testdisk

OS: XP Sp1

My HD got two partition one 4 windows and one 4 my data.
Due to some reason and bad sectors, the partition in which my data is stored is unredable. when i click i get "Format now" option.

So i used Testdisk, everythings fine... Analysed --> write partion structure to disk --> restartes the PC.

Know, nothing happens.. the condition remains same of my HD.

Please tellme what me doing wrong?

Note: One more thing i am using the TESTDISK directly from CD Drive frm CD, can this be the cause of the problem?
