I am need of the communities expertise.

I have a 5 drive raid 5 array, comprised of 1tb disks.
4tb in the array, had 3.63 tb of actual storage. 1.75tb of it was used.
2 of them died within 1 minute of each other. 1 does not even turn on anymore, and the other is reporting: "failed servo and/or seek element".
It also will disconnect itself when the array attempts a rebuilt.

I did a voltmeter test on the psu, and it was fine.
The 'server' was on a ups and is not easily accessible.

my first question is, since I only have 3 drives will any data be able to be recovered?
(so far i have had zero sucess)
my second question is, the drive still powers on, what are my other options?

What i've done so far:
I attempted to create an image of the 'failed drive' and after 16 hours it had numerous read errors and created a 230mb file (i canceled the process).
I ran wdc's diagnostic app, and it gets stuck at sector 783320831, for hours.
I contacted 2 of the data recovery providers on wdc's website and they wanted over $1000, that is not possible.

I appreciate the help.

testdisk is a partition recovery utility. i downloaded it and it could see that all drives have data on then, but it can not combine the drives together to recover anything.

i went ahead and purchased runtime's RAID Reconstructor and GetDataBack for NTFS. right now its identified the partion, but can not read anything off of the 'bad' hd. keeps saying read error 113 (bad sectors).

Ok so . this is not meant to be recovered and it'll teach you not to use raid5.

What you can do however is pay a fuckton for a company specializing in that to take your hdd platters and read em for you (very expensive but it works).

You might want to check how your two hdd's failed at the same time, cuz the next drives might as well follow.
