My one year old deleted pictures and movies from our digital camera. Yeah don't ask me why someone gave her the camera to play with and then questioned how they deleted the contents.

I've been searching for software that will restore the pictures and .mov files from the sdcard.

Not one software will allow you preview the .mov files

All the free software failed to restore my pictures or .mov files. Even some of the ones you have to pay for.

Puran File Recovery
- Failed to recover any picture or mov

Wondershare Data Recovery
- First 100MB Free
- Not showing all my .mov files
- the only mov that was found was unsuccessful to restore

Active@UndeleteLite
- FAILED

iCare Data Recovery
- Not showing all my .mov files

Recover My Photos
- Not showing all my .mov files

FlashFile Recovery
- Not showing all my .mov files

Stellar Photo Recover
- Requires Activation
- Reviews show that even then .mov files are not guarantee to work

EasyUS Data Recovery
- Up to 2GB Free
- Passed (.jpg) I got my Pictures back for free as these were under 2GB
- Failed (.mov) the only mov that was found was unsuccessful to restore

DDR Digital Camera Recovery
- Requires Activation
- This shows multiple .mov files can be recovered

Card Recovery Pro
- Requires Activation
- This shows multiple .mov files can be recovered

Does anyone have experience with Card Recovery Pro or Stellar Photo Recovery that recovered .mov files?

Try PCI Inspector File Recovery and also SanDisk Rescue Pro Deluxe 4.0 this can do videos (supposed to be paid, but a search can find it) as I believe they have stopped supporting the program.

In my experience, recovering data from any type of flash or solid state media has been hit or miss with consumer grade tools even under the best circumstances. If you've tried that many recovery methods and still haven't had any luck, there's a good chance they're simply unrecoverable without extremely expensive professional solutions, and even those aren't a guarantee.

Lesson learned, back that stuff up regularly :/

SanDisk Rescue Pro Deluxe 4.0, can't find this without a virus on the web. This will work...does anyone have a link to this previous version?

Thanks bruceb. I downloaded and installed. However it wouldn't allow me to restore all of my .mov files. Almost all of them, but not the entire collection like the latest version. I thought 4.0 would be the same as 4.1.2.7, but I guess not.

The newer versions of sanDisk Rescue Pro (standard/deluxe) allowed me to preview these .mov files and all these are intact.

FYI ... older versions of Rescue Pro just used a Serial # to activate all features. Starting with V5 they went to an Activation System and then they generated an activation code for you. Only problem with this, is it is only good for 1 year (and a high $59 price tag)

yes very high price tag for only allowing the purchaser to use for one year. I can see if you don't get updates or support after the year, but to disable the software...that's not right.

On the other side, how often would you need to use it? One instance of lost data would hopefully trigger a desire to implement a better backup system.

I guess it comes down how much is your data worth?

Hey, sep.

I'm confused about whether-or-not Rescue Pro will work for me. I have a coworker's microSD card and Windows wants to format the card when I try to open it (I clicked "no" / "cancel").

I downloaded the Rescue Pro trial and it found over 13,397 files. I can preview most of them within the application. It said it would only recover 25 files, but the "Output folder" contains all 13,397 files! Inside the application, a lot of the pictures preview fine...but various image viewers fail to open the files and say they are "corrupt."

I took a screenshot of the dialog that said it would only do 25 files:

After installing, all I did was tell it to scan/analyze and I let it run overnight. I came back to find that message. I never did select 25 files to recover.

To be more specific. The key is tied to my PC with no more activation codes allowed. So, I am willing to recover your media from my pc.

Today I was trying to transfer some work videos to a thumb drive for my boss. ALL THE VIDEOS DISAPPEARED !! I tried all day to restore them and nothing found them. One program recovered 7 but wouldn't let me preview them. How could you recover it from your computer? I assume i'd have to send the SD card which obviously isn't an option. Perhaps I'll just try to convince them to purchase this. It's for a legal claim so I don't have a choice but to figure out how to get them back.
