VZs 3G coverage is 2nd to none, its just that it is slower than AT&Ts. But, VZ's LTE Network is so far ahead of everyone else, its not even funny.

I commute 30 miles to and from work in LA everyday, and this phone never goes to 3G.

I've got Verizon 3G and have been satisfied with the service in my travel area of NC to Ohio.

I've had issues with both in NYC, but Verizon's LTE always seems effective. The 3G on the other hand will often stop working.

this is true. the 3g would just stop on my blackberry and my android phones. sometimes it would come back after a few minutes, sometimes i would have to reboot. its pretty good but defintely not 100% reliable

I have my S3 on Verizon for a couple weeks now and the battery life is much better than the early LTE phones. For example, I was tethering on my way home yesterday using FoxFi. Over an hour period, the battery only dropped a few percent while on LTE.

The single best thing about the Snapdragon S4 is that it is the only SOC that has a next gen LTE radio built on a smaller process. 28nm I believe. This attribute is more important than the processor's performance imo and often goes unmentioned in reviews and discussions.

In terms of assisting with battery life?

Just from my observation with two older LTE phones, battery is better, less dropping of 4G, faster transfer speeds and not getting stuck on 3G in a 4G area.
