Hello. I was trying to update my drive's firmware with no success. The drive is still accessible but Sea Tools can't run a SMART check, nor does the drive model show up, and the firmware i.d. is not the complete syntax. So, i'm thinking i have to send it back for a new replacement. I want to erase all the data on it before i do. What is the best method of ensuring the data to be cleaned off it? I've already written zero's and did a full format but I am just wondering and want to be confident its wiped clean.

thanks,

that's about all you can do, unless you want to write 0's to it many more times, you've done all you can/need to.
