Data dump on dell laptop after installing ocz 128 Gb ssd and windows 7

I have a Dell Precision 4400 laptop. it has Windows Vista Business on it. Recently upgraded my desktop SSD so took the ocz vertex 4 128Gb ssd slapped it in the laptop and loaded Windows 7 home premium.

It data dumps, doesn't load, does nothing when power on, occasionally actually works, and does other weird stuff.

Put the other hard drive back in with windows vista and no problems.

All drivers are up to date.

I cant figure it out but was thinking:

Is this laptop bios/motherboard to old to handle a ssd drive?

Any thoughts or things I should check?

NO not too old at all. You putting a SSD in there will make things soo snappy!!! you will think you upgraded CPU,, things will pop up in 0 seconds.. photoshop launches in 2 seconds,,, gl

Not necessarily, assuming you have the latest bios. I have an SSD in a Dell D830 from the same era, and it works fine. I've also successfully put SSDs in desktop systems that are much older--for example, a socket 939 system.
