Data Collection as it will be on the coming Win 10 Creation release.

At this point, the only thing that would appease the tinfoil hats is open-sourcing the entire OS.

I'm waiting for a MS microwave oven so it can report how many times I pop microwave popcorn each week.😱😛 Surely someone will market a networked model that will let the owner know when their 3 minute tv dinner is ready from the far side of the house.

How about Microsoft not turn their OS into a giant spyware system, I avoided Apple and Google for this reason alone. Now there is only Linux.

Plus 1 for Winblows 7 and no updates. Like a Timex watch, it gets a licking and keeps on ticking. Hell if I'll "upgrade" (more like a damn downgrade) Winblows 10. You all can have it! Eat your cake too!

I hear ya, but, otoh, since Apple and Google have gotten away with it so handily, there really isn't, unfortunately, any incentive for MS to stay on the sidelines... And realistically speaking, for all the griping from a few, mostly ineffectual quarters (in which I include myself of course), society-wide surveillance-by-computer isn't going to get better, it's just going to get worse (and worse, and worse...) 🙁

Is steam available in Linux? If not that could ruin M$. If Linux would just make modern games play that would steal a huge market share.

Steam's on gnu/linux, and has a decent amount of games, but it still isn't windows. I'm not super enthused about having drmed proprietary software on my system, but it's an option for some. It's better than nothing I guess.
