Data and Voice -> Fiber

Greetings All,

I have a situation that I would like a second opinion on. My company just finished constructing a new building and we are going to extend our network as well as analog phone lines. They are expecting to do this with as little cost as possible.

Since VOIP is not something they will allow at this point in time, I have been researching several Fiber Optic Multiplexers. With similar projects in the past, I was fine with just using a Fiber Optic to Copper Ethernet converter; but this worked fine simply because we had separate phone systems. This new project is going to require that the analog phone lines pass through the Fiber Optic line because we are sharing the system.

If anyone has used a particular product or knows of a better solution, any suggestions would be much appreciated.

that's exactly what you need. a fiber mux.

or many times depending on your phone system you would use a "remote shelf" which is a separate, smaller phone system that provides the station lines and then connects to the PBX via fiber.
