DA's Reflections at 10,000. (So I'm a Lifer...)

Reading a few of the other 10,000th posts that have preceded my own, I have to say that I am a little bit intimidated. MacBaine set the bar pretty friggin' high with his 10,000th (and last) post.

So I kinda thought that I'd go "stream of consciousness" on you guys, just to see where it takes me.

I "discovered" AT while I was in law school, and...

I blame all of you bastards in ATOT for me not graduating in the top quarter of my class.
I blame the guys in P&N for "making me" burn hours of my time explaining the Bush vs. Gore decision. (You'll never understand it.)
I blame the Ferengi bastards in Hot Deals for my $15,000 credit card bill. (Well, and a certain midget named Bridgette... the "Bette Davis of Midget Porn" but that's not important now.
I blame the greedy, lowballing vermin of the FS/T forum for creating a place for me to dump my Hot Deals purchases, so that I can pay off my credit card bill that I generated from purchases "inspired" by the Hot Deals forum in the first place.
I blame the sons of vipers in the Video forum for making me feel like I constantly made a bad decision on my video card purpose. (Seriously guys. If you feel that strongly about your GPU manufacturer of choice, maybe it is time for you to martyr yourself for the cause... many on the forum would thank you for it. ;)

But I feel that I am transgressing into that "MacBaine" area a little too far... and I'm not going to call anyone here a ****** ... no matter how big a ****** some of you people are. ...and you do know who you are. ;)

There are also the positives from my time here...

I have penned dozens of "YAGT" posts (helping the lonely and secretly wondering if any pimple farmer seeking relationship advice on a tech forum would ever get laid.)

I have debated hundreds of thought provoking issues of the day in P&N (with people with very pronounced, acute social disorders). My belief system has also changed, somewhat... doubtless a result of my exposure to P&N. *shivers*

I have had the unique opportunity to serve my fellow man, offering dozens of people some solid advice (which is not to be taken as legal advice, as I am only licensed in the Great State of Texas and laws in your jurisdiction may vary. As always, please consult with an attorney licensed in your area ;))

10,000 posts. That's a lot of keystrokes and mouse clicks. *sigh* And I regret none of it...

I think Jake in Brokeback Mountain" captured my feelings about AT the best -
"I wish I knew how to quit you."

Only now I'm a Lifer... and like Scott Peterson, I guess I ain't goin' anywhere.

Well, congratulations?

Have a  while you decide if it's a good thing to have hit 10k posts. Sometimes I regret the time I spent here... Other times I realize that I've learned quite a few things along the way; more than I'd have learned watching television for the same amount of time.

That's funny to me when you look at my first initial and last name.
