It appears that Darwin was busy this morning.
HONEA PATH, S.C. -
A 25-year-old man is dead after officials say he was shot during a "game" using a bulletproof vest. One person has been charged in the shooting.
The Anderson County Coroner's Office says Blake Randell Wardell was with a group of about 10 other people when they found an old bulletproof vest at a home on 429 Broadmouth Church Road in Honea Path early Wednesday morning.
Wardell decided to put on the vest and let others shoot him with a small caliber gun.
Apparently, one of the shots missed the vest and hit Wardell in the chest, Coroner Don McCown explains.
When officials arrived, they found Wardell in the garage. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Taylor Ann Kelly, 18, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter. Officials say Kelly and Wardell were friends.
The investigation continues.
