I have a fish a girl sent to me that looks like the Christian fish, except with shark teeth and fins. Considering what I know of her, I don't think it is a pro-Christian symbol.

My good friends wife is a Jesus freak and gets all pissed off when she sees the Darwin Fish on cars, I just wonder WTH anyone would really care what someone else puts on their cars?
Republicans defy all attempts at reason and sanity. I kind of (but not really) feel for your good friend, for having married such an idiot.

No. Christ sounds like the latin word for fish (or was it Greek?)

Anyway, because of this the simple fish drawing became a symbol to point early persecuted christians to meetings, etc.

The irony of course is that scientists themselves were oppressed and threatened with death at one point in history.
