He shouldn't have done it if only because of the optics.

If this does turn out to create additional value in his properties, he should be popped for this.

But I'm not automatically persuaded that adding another lane to an existing highway translates directly into higher property values, but I have no knowlege of that area. I've never seen that happen anywhere I've been. Put in a new highway across property that had none? Heck yeah that adds value. But adding another lane? I'm not so sure. We just did that here in my town and it did the exact opposite. Some buildings with long established business have set vacant now for a couple of years. Moreover, when you go to widen a road/highway that often completely screws up exisitng business, access is severly hampered for pretty good period. Business takes a big hit.

Oh, and really don't get the whole computer/website thing in the opening paragraph. He has a link on his 'private' sites that go to his campaign and that's forbidden? I would've never guessed. I can see a problem if it's the other way around. ("Hey want to me to vote for your stuff? Click on the links to one of my business below and buy lots of stuff" lol)

Really disappointing. I met Issa once at a fundraiser and he seemed like a good guy. I have at least been surprised the witch hunts haven't happened yet when it comes to big public investigations...

BTW, I don't think this is limited to one party.

Good thing you added that, it should be added to every criticism of a Republican. The same is not needed, of course, for attacks on Democrats.

If you don't add that, then no matter what the Republican is guilty of, there is to be no discussion of that, only of your partisanship.

Oh come on come on, Arnie S. screwed Issa and we must make amends. Ole Arnie let Issa fund the recall of Grey Davis, and then just as Issa saw himself of Gov of California timber, Arnie stepped in and stole all his thunder.

We all owe Issa a chance to recoup his investment losses, because what good is democracy if we can't have corrupt bosses? Ask not what we can do for the country, ask instead what we can do to make Dan Issa more whole.
