Darn, that latency's painful!

So I got this laptop for about $180 and I thought it was a real deal. Came with a stylus and the build quality was pretty good. But in experience, it feels like a darn netbook!

So I checked what was wrong with it and look at this:

Grandmas have faster reflexes than that latency!!!

@Det0x , it seems LPDDR4 and probably LPDDR5 have serious issues where despite being CL20, the latency is almost 2.5 times as bad.

@adroc_thurston may be able to shed some light on the why and how.

Interestingly, slots 1 to 4 are empty. This was meant to be a 16GB laptop but it was cut down. So that might affect the bandwidth but don't think the latency will improve even with the full 16GB.

Can you replace the RAM? I wouldn't buy a laptop that wasn't easy to work on.

LPDDR4. So it's soldered.

I bought it more as a curiosity coz I had used an i3-1115G4 before but that one had fast DDR4 SODIMM, at least 2666 or more.

This one seems to be DDR4-2133 CL20 which shouldn't be this slow but adroc mentioned that LPDDR memories have very high latencies. He was right.

the last real Intel cpu was ivy bridge

you'd be happier with a used T430 from 2012 it costs peanuts
No I think it was Haswell/Broadwell EP. Early DDR4 Xeons.
