Darn network password?

I've got eight computers on Win95, 98, NT, and W2k on a network at work. One system (laptop w/98) refuses to network with two specific PC's (w/2k and NT). It 'sees' them on the network, but when I click on them to 'Map network drive' I get prompted for a password. The other five PC's didn't prompt for a password on the same mapping. What gives? I've searched through the sharing settings ovr and over and none of the systems seem to have passwords or permissions. Anyone have any ideas?

Are you 'logged in' to an account on the laptop?
Click Start > "Log off", than log in with any username. Good luck...
