I was just about to play some GTA 4, game loaded and Niko is standing there, and then screen goes black. I restart and RROD. So I shut it down, wait 10 seconds, and it boots this time, loads GTA 4 and then hard locks. I restart again and it locks this time at the splash screen, restart again, RROD. This is console #2 for me. The first one failed after about 5 months, and I've had this replacement for about a year and a half before it bit the dust tonight. This one will still turn on, but it will lock and RROD after a minute. The first one just RROD'd no matter what. Anyway, another casualty.

I could swear the first time I got it fixed they sent a box, now they make you get your own box? Am I crazy or did they change that? Also what is the current turn around time? The lady on the phone said 2-3 weeks, but I can't imagine it's that long now is it?

I got an email that said there are three methods to get the console to them.

1)If you were sent an electronic mailing label
2)If you receive a pre-paid shipping box
3)If you receive a paper label

I received an electronic mailing label. The instructions for that one tell me to provide my own packaging.

Seriously?
I just meant in general. It didn't RROD yet. Sorry for the confusion. Is the mfg warranty still valid if I don't fill out the registration info? (I can't remember the last product I bothered to register)

I don't think you need to fill anything out, I think you are just covered.

Also I just sent mine back yesterday and the method I had was they sent me a UPS shipping label and I had to supply my own box. I'll post back when I get it back, I'm courious too on how long it will take.
