What would you get GTX560 ti or 6950 2gb? The 6950 is the MSI for $260 and the GTX 560 ti is Evga for $240. This would be for BC2 and BF3 at 1920x1200

If you plan on playing on Ultra settings with AA better get the HD 6950 2GB so you don't run out of VRAM. I have seen it constantly go above 1 GB and I run the the same resolution as you maxed out settings.

If he plans on running ultra settings with AA then as of right now neither of these cards is good enough.

The cards generally perform about the same with the slight edge going to the hd6950. With the AMD card, you get the extra ram which may help some of the time. With the Nvidia card, you get Batman Arkham City for free. It's my personal opinion that Nvidia has consistently better driver support and developer relations.

EDIT: If you don't mind mail in rebates, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162075 then this card ends up being the same price as the hd6950, outperforms it, and comes with Batman AC.

BF3 is really hungry for VRAM. Get the card with more memory, in this case the 2GB 6950 is the better card for BF3.

What are you talking about I run maxed out settings and average 45+ FPS and that's with my GPU clock at 900/1350.

Either way that GTX 570 is a good deal I only saw my VRAM jump to 1.3 gig like 4 times and I have been playing for two days+ now.

go with the 6950, it's faster and has more memory. You can't go wrong based on these two facts

People need to remember that Beta does not have the high graphics settings. So how much will really be needed won't be known till we can get benchmarks for the real game.

If the 2GB 6950 can be flashed up (few can now) then its certainly no contest as to what to get. I'm more partial to the 2GB 6950 because I have one right now and its sweet. I'd say either will do the job fine so get the cheapest one if price is a concern.

Get either with the 2GB version. The price difference isn't that large, and I guarantee you'll get both better long-term use and resale from the 2GB version.

This is playing out EXACTLY like the previous jumps from 256mb to 512mb, 512mb to 1gb, and so on.

Note : this only applies to relatively beefy cards at the time such as the 560 and 6950. If there's anything I have seen repeated over time, it's stupidly slow cards with huge memory sizes just to fill a slot and sell to idiots. Eg; Radeon 5450 1GB vs. Radeon 5450 512MB. The difference is gonna be jack shit, because if you run settings in a game that NEED more than 512MB, it's gonna be a slide show. Ditto hypothetical cards like a 6670 2GB or GT540 2GB.

For only a $20 difference I would get the 6950, it's faster and has the extra video memory that will likely be helpful for that game and future games.

Has anyone actually proved that the game is using 1gb+ of vram or is the game just "grabbing" what is avaliable.... just asking
