Depends on how much you drive per day. You could either have crap gas mileage or nice gas mileage.
 
I don't need any more gas guzzlers.. a nice econobox would be nice to have again... but I don't want a car payment so that would have to wait a few more years till I can pay cash again

I think the Mazda Protege is a good value and doesn't cost as much as the Honda Civic or Toyota Corolla.
