Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition

Got a re-release today.

Bought the game in Wii U when I got the console and when it was my only console in the house. Didn't played much since it was on the only TV in the house. But then I grew up and bought a PS4 and a second TV for my man cave and can play while my gf is watching her trip and world discovery series.

So, it's out today and at a mere 30CAD. I will grab this for the PS4. It's a bit old but I remeber that exploration, customisation and overall fun factor of this game. A good mix of God of War action, Tomb Raider like puzzles (although pretty easy) and a few pinches of RPG elements.

I think this game deserves a bit more views but that might be just me.

These is this the exact kind of game where I have no idea how it got a remaster. This could have just gotten a sequel, but it seems the devs couldn't bother with new ideas. EVERYTHING is getting a remaster, it seems.

Yeah it's a weird trend there days and I too can'T understand why this on go a remaster. But I really liked the game and didn't got the chance to play as much as I would liked but now I have the place and time for it and at that price...why not.

I loved the Darksider games. Probably put more than 100 hours into each of them. It always struck me as strange that they didn't sell better. Here's hoping that this remaster is a sign of renewed interest in the series by the developer. I'd be all over a darksiders 3 if it ever was released.

Keep in mind that Darksiders was an IP that was owned by THQ. When THQ went out of business, Vigil, the Darksiders developer, shut down as well. The IP itself was sold to Nordic and the developers went off to other studios or to form their own. Joe Mad actually has a Kickstarter that recently finished. (You'll definitely see his art style in that game.)

Could they (Nordic) make a sequel? Well, they (the publisher) could commission one, but it'd probably take a bit longer to make sure that it's done right since Vigil isn't around. My only real complaint would be that the upgraded version doesn't contain both Darksiders games, but for $30, it's not too bad.

Kind of surprising to me, as well. IMO, Darksiders 1 was more interesting and serves as a better introduction to the Darksiders universe.

Just makes zero sense from a marketing standpoint. You're not going to get much in terms of sales from newcomers to the franchise, since a lot of them will assume Darksiders 1 is a prerequisite. I can't imagine you'll get much in sales from franchise vets, since Darksiders 2 wasn't really good enough to warrant going back to in a remake (IMO)--it was just an OK game.

I thought the Darksiders universe had enough intrigue, but Nordic seems to be dropping the ball as caretakers of the franchise. They should've remade 1+2 to drum up interest for newcomers to the franchise, which would have set up the foundation to invest in making 3.

WTF lol not available in Quebec?!!??

I bought it.

Liked the first one on the 360
Second one on the 360 looked like crap and I stopped playing it

On the PS4, it looks and runs well.

They released it to test the waters for a sequel.

I'm surprised this has a remaster but not Kingdoms of Amalur Reckoning which is a great game that could really use some hd textures and less pop in.

Kingdoms was good, but not "replay a second time" good imo.
But it was refreshing when it came out and the DLCs were nice.

On second thought, i'd play it again if it would release in a remaster edition on PS4, been a while.
