Dark Water

this movie was far from the worst movie of 2005. The movie was actually entertaining IMO.

if you think this was the worst movie you saw in 2005, it was probably the only movie you saw in 2005.

Anyone remember the cartoon Pirates of Dark Water?

Oh yeah 😀 I used to love that cartoon...

But in relation to this thread... I haven't even heard of Dark Water.

I agree. The movie was very good from a photographic/atmospheric standpoint and was everything it was shooting to be.

If you were going into it wanting to see Jennifer Connelly in some skimpy outfit...you probably were disappointed.

It was a good movie in the sense of a classic thriller, no over the top effects or bloated storylines.

No way. WAY too slow. I couldn't finish the orignal Japanese one, but i figured if it was good enough for a Hollywood remake, it must be worth seeing. But i couldn't finish the Hollywood one either.

okay mcmurp, yeah, you are right, it was the only movie i saw...

clearly you being entertained by it says it all.

Not a great movie, not a horrible one. It required a brain and a little patience to get the full effect, so it's no surprise that many ATOT's are whining about it. But the worst movie of 2005? Not even in the top 20 worst. Try: Alone in the Dark, Aeon Flux (so bad not even Charlize Theron could make it watchable), Into the Blue (so bad not even Jessica Alba in a bikini for 2 hours could make it watchable), Elektra (so bad not even Jennifer Garner in tight leather could make it watchable), The Dukes of Hazzard (so bad not even Jessica Simpson shaking it in a pink bikini could make it watchable), etc etc etc.

I must agree with GagHalfrunt (great name BTW...) The Dukes was horrible, I actually left the theatre (it was part of a double feature, I wasn't expecting much) and, well, I didn't even really like Hitchhikers Guide, even though I paid to see it in the theatre and bought the DVD 😱

required a brain and some patience eh? only tard like would post mostly hot chick flix in the same category...expecting those to be worth watching is idiocy in itself. perhaps you should just stick to something else.

Dark Water - storyline, with its attempts at a parallel horrible childhood story, failled on all levels, suspense, effects, dialogue, pace and ending... I do not even think anyone read the screenplay on this one...just gave the money due to the genre and Jenn Connelly.

I just watched it last week and I agree it was extremely disappointing. Moved extremely slow, wasn't really all that interesting, definitely not scary, and the ending was totally unsatisfying. Thumbs down.
