The last thing Buddhism cares about is what people look like, even good old Siddhartha himself. That being said, though, those representations you are talking about are probably depictions of Hotei, the laughing Buddha. Not the traditional Shakyamuni Buddha.

Actually from a stand point of racism who cares what color, BUT from a historical stand point of a CORRECT interpretation into who Santa was, and where this came from, then of course he has to be white, because that is who the real person is.

This has nothing to do with what we like, or dislike, it's about Factual Historical Accuracy that is all, so let's get this straight! :)

So if you don't care about being historically accurate, then who cares, but if you do, then he's white, that's all there is to it.
