I plugged my Gamecube into my sister's new tv with an RF cord attatched to a RF modulator. the RGB cord wouldnt work because there's only a yellow and white hookup at the back of the gamecube. I also can't hook up an rgb to the gamecube in my room. The tv only has a white and a yellow. The tv is mated to a vcr, which might not matter
So I turn on the gamecube and go to L1 (input channel) and the picture is dark. Whenever I'm in dark areas in games I can barely see anything. There is no option in the Gamecube control screen that can fix the picture
This also happened when I plugged the gamecube into a hotel tv a few years ago with RF. It also happened when I plugged my PS2 into a couple hotels' tv this year with an RF cord. They didn't have hookups for an rgb cord
So I went to the store to look for an RGB mono cord because I was told at EB games that both the tv's are mono. I also got suggested I could put both the sound parts of the rgb into a Y adapter, but that probably won't work. I guess it seems RF and RGB are going the way of the dinosaur. Too bad the tv's don't have digital out. I only got my tv/vcr 5 years ago
