I loved the Demo for this game so I bought it. It installed fine and I've played through a couple Chapters so far loving the gameplay, graphics, etc. etc.

However, and this is a big however, I the game won't load Chapter 4. It keeps crashing during the load screen with a weird error window popping up. I was playing the single player game through the Steam account I have, so I exited that and loaded the normal, Ubisoft single player. To my surprise, none of my saves were there. It's like the Ubisoft-only version was on my PC as well as the Steam-powered version.

So I figured, "Okay. I'll just play through the Ubisoft one since Steam might be conflicing with god knows what." After a while of playing on the Ubisoft one, the game won't load Chapter 2. So I restart, load Steam, launch the DM single player mode and steal the crystal to initiate the loading to Chapter 4 only to still have the problem.

It just feels like this game is still kind of beta and I'm wondering if anyone is having trouble just playing through the campaign? Any relations, suggestiongs, etc. would be of great help.

Thats what the reviews are saying, I'm going to wait a few weeks/months before I even think about buying it.

I'll give it a shot and see what happens. No loss really, just wait if it does crash out.

Join the club. I bought it yesterday and it's got sound looping problems. BTW, I don't understand this whole Steam/Ubi soft thing. So, I buy the DVD and install the ah heck. When I try to play the game, up pops Steam and it takes no less than one hour to update the game. In fact, when I first booted the thing up it registered as 45% complete. So this DVD had such a boatload of crap it needed updating through Steam. When I load up through the DVD it shows no saved games and when I load up through Steam it shows all my saved games. This is all so needlessly F**KED up.

Last two games I bought were Gothic 3 and DMMM. Both are not ready to play. This is all more reason why I may just chuck the PC gaming business. It's not worth all the hassle and these gaming companies sticking it to the buying public. Sorry for the rant.

I have had a 360 for six months now without any issues. I don't know how many games I've either bought or rented......but in my experience there is no comparison between PC games and 360 games. The 360 games are *much* more reliable. It should be no surprise afterall as the games are designed to work with that hardware specifically while PC games need to run on all sorts of hardware. I haven't had any 360 game that even comes close to the buggy mess that G3 and DMMM are ATM.

Yeah, I hope they fix this very soon since you can't even play through the thing without it crashing. I could tolerate something like an unimportant NPC glitch or something, but not even being able to play through the game and load the 4th Chapter? No excuse.

Also, has anyone noticed that the GFX Detail will automatically set itself back to Medium?

I've reformatted now so hopefully that might cure....something.

G3 is out!?!? I've been under a log!!! Of course if it isn't ready for normal gameplay yet I'll wait.

It does suck how these gaming companies more often than not make their consumers pay for beta testing.

Is there anyway to have AA on the multiplayer?
