Dark check to showdown- Is that legal?

short stack goes all in
small blind calls, and anounces dark check to showdown
i'm bb and have 67 suited

i call, and also say check to showdown
everyone flips over their cards
i win with a pair of 7's

is what the small blind did legal in a casino tourny? (no problem at our home game)

i doubt that it is legal in a casino tourny...
but one of the implied rules in a tourny is that when someone goes all in (small stack) with not too many ppl left.. the ppl still in the game check down.. (it raises the possiblity of knocking the small stack out)

You cannot make a move out of turn. You said there were 4 players in the hand. If shorty is all in then there are 3 players left. Small blind cannot announce anything until all of the players after him have acted. Once the pot is right he can announce a dark check if he is next to act on the next round which in your case sounds like he wasn't.

This really pissed me off in a casino tourney once. These two guys who knew each other were sitting on opposite sides of me. The bastard before me kept acting out of turn which gave away information to his friend after me.

Basically keep your mouth shut until it is your turn to act.

ah.. wait till the round is over. so he should have waited till i went, then announce dark check and ONLY for the flop since i still need to act on the flop.
