so is anyone even still interested in this game after the beta fiasco or whatever it was?
the game looked like garbage from the beginning to me anyway so i never followed it.
.The release of Dark and Light is delayed to May 30th, 2006, and Pioneers will
have access starting on May 28th, 2006, 1pm UTC.
Dark and Light will be available for download to Pioneers on May 26th, 2006, at
1pm UTC.
As the developers are currently working on the final testing and balancing tasks
in the Dark and Light private beta, they must regretfully choose to postpone the
release of Dark and Light. César Jacquet, manager of NPCube, explains: "As the
release date gets closer, we are not satisfied enough with the balancing and
debugging, and do not wish to release Dark and Light just yet.

I remember the early days,took me 2 weeks to log on in SOG due to game crashes,however now it is very stable,shame first impressions stay with people since SOG now is nowhere like it was in the early days,I can play all day now without crashes,besides SOG is not DNL,using different graphical engine and server.
The developers are at least working hard on DNL unlike SWG(yes I was a pre CU player until NGE came along and killed the game,).
A single question. How is the pvp ? Fun ? Balanced ?

You mean SOG,well that is stable now but closes on the 27th,it was only suppose to be a free taster of things to come,had lot of things missing like quests,crafting,DNL graphics to name a few.
Lot of people are still interested in the game,lot of ex -swg players are going over to DNL,the game does seem to have everything, guilds,crafting,PvP,grinding,quests,events,seiging fortresses etc.. and non pvp regions too.
I just hope the launch is smoother then SOG.

In Dark and Light, item creation is accessible for all players at any time. This axis is totally independent of the fighting axis. Becoming specialized in a job will have no influence on the player?s progression in his/her class, except for the time taken.
How does one become a crafter?
Practice makes perfect! To develop your crafting abilities, nothing is as good as practice. A player who wants to learn how to make items will have to get all the item recipes and the necessary ingredients to fabricate them.
There are 5 jobs in Dark and Light:
- The tanner: fabricates leather armor
- The tailor: fabricates cloth armor
- The armorer: fabricates the chain mail and plate armor
- The blacksmith: fabricates hand-to-hand and distance weapons
- The jeweler: fabricates jewels and jewelry and bracelets.
The crafter can be specialized in one or more of these jobs. The only thing that limits him/her is the number of points that he/she has to allocate. Therefore, he/she will have to choose between being specialized in a job or being versatile, but inevitably less effective.
The job list will grow with time. Later, access will be given to new jobs such as alchemist or engineer.
At best it will have the same fate as SWG.
Very sad, really.
As announced earlier today, the problems with the game database has forced us to postpone the download for a few days to be able to release the game in good condition.
We?ve decided that the download of the game client will start on the 30th May 2006 at 6:00 PM UTC and the opening of the server at the same time for the Pioneers. The ?Griffon accounts? will have access to the server from the 3rd of June, 2006, 01h00 PM UTC.
Access to the server for the other players will begin on the 5th June 2006 at 1:00 PM UTC.
Until this date, the Stress test will stay open with an update shortly. Sorry for the inconvenience.
