Dark Age of Camelot

I retired my 8L4 Wizard around 9-10 months ago. I got a little bored with the population imbalances, PvP, and of course.. Trials of Atlantis. Has the game changed for the better since that time? Enough that it's worth coming back?

ToA has been made easier. Lots of the requirements (such as being ML1 to enter ML5 dungeon, being ML3 to enter ML7 dungeon, etc.) have been removed. You can also do the trials in any order now, finally. Lots of the artifact encounters have also been tweaked to make them easier so you don't require a small zerg to assist you.

However, at least on the cluster I played on, RvR went lame. There was no more 8v8, just 3+ group zergs on a nightly basis and stealth zergs. I played on Palomides/Midgard, on the Palo/Gawaine/Bors/Merlin cluster. I quit about a month ago after over 4 years of playing.

Got Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Guild Wars to keep me occupied now.

Quit last week. Oblivion for my 360 has taken it's place.

On how DAoC is these days. I still enjoyed playing it when I quit. It is a zerg vs zerg game though. That's just the nature of how the frontiers are setup though. Agramon on Gareth was a lot of 8vs8 action. But to be effective in keep takes you need to have a lot of people. Mostly that's the reason it's a zerg vs zerg game.

I have a lot of respect for one thing they did with this game. They made non-ToA servers. Now, if only Blizz would make non-Epic servers I would be happy.

I used to love DaoC but had to quit when they put in the power gamer content.

I cam back in early Feb and have to admit I am pleased. I am on a "classic" server which means no-toa. They introduced instanced dungeons with tasks to go along with them.
I played a mid before and went Alb this time. I dinged 50 in about 2.5 days /played which imo is pretty quick.

RVR has been pretty fun as well. Lots of zerging but also lots of 8v8 fights to be had.

Hibs are still overpowered imo 🙂
