Albion casters are a lot of fun. I have Hibernian chars on Palomides and Albion chars Galahad.

Join the Mids or the Hibs they are the realms that rule most of the server now, albion is always overcrowded and disorganized take a look on the Lancelot server. Its the best server with best Mids and Hibs and most active on realm war too.

But, this game is so severely lack of contents and variety I am not even kidding.

I tried Dark Age of Camelot for a while, but had to go back to Everquest.

For some strange reason, Everquest is so addicting. Despite the mostly mindless gameplay. :)

I like DAoC better because I'm getting in at an earlier time. So its not that hard to catch up.

If you really want to get in a guild, join a server, any server. Create the character that you want to play. Play it well, hang out with people. Create your OWN groups, by using the ingame group locator stuff. Don't just go around inviting people without talking to them. If you play your class well, and have any kind of personality, soon you will have an invite to a guild. I NEVER invite people into my guild that go around asking. The ones I invite are the ones that turn up around me, group with me, and play their characters well.

As a x-DAOCer, I had many offers to join guilds. I'd group up with people and fight with them for a while. They'd notice I didn't have a guild tag, and ask if I wanted to join their guild. They were very impressed with my skill of play, and wanted me in the guild. I never had to ask to join one.

DAOC is a great game, but you can make good characters for RvR (end game) or gimped ones. I made a Friar first of all, so I was insta-gimped. It's all about ranged attack, so pick a character that has that.

I believe character is the most important of all when you going into a new MMORPG
Here is a run down some powerful class thats not gimped.

Theurgist<~~ Most Uber class of all, and can do very well in solo, group and RvR and also the best caster got little mini pets that can spam at enemy but the pets dies in 30sec. and transfer half of their aggro to the caster.

Thane- 2nd most uber class got dd got plate so tankable and great weapon damage

Skald- my favorite, its a bard in fighter class but has less variety in spells but very versatile class

I am just going to run down the list now, you can get more info from www.camelotvault.com go to the forum and take a look

Healer

Hunter, Ranger, Scout<~~ Most powerful class for RvR due to their ability of heavy damage on bow and snipping

Berserker- most melee damage amount all classes

runemaster

Armsman

Cleric-powerful DD

Minstrel

Wiz- after the test patch then its good (patch to live server coming on Monday)

Bard

Champion

Druid

Eldrich- after test patch then its good

Enchanter- after test patch then its good

Hero

The rest of the class are consider by most people gimped.
shadowblade, shaman, spiritmaster, Warrior, Cabalist, Friar(wow! so gimped not even funny), infiltrator, mercenery, paladin, sorcerer, blademaster, Mentalist, Nightshade, Warden.

Enjoy!

daoc's popularity seems leveled off recently and felt some high lvl people promptly quit after they tried RvR...

Expansion is in dire need.
