ok my temps are about 57c on full load with prime but other than that they are really low on boot

the amazing thing is im running at stock voltage RUNNING AT 2600 MHZ 260X10 amd 3200 90nm

heres some pics

my question is. is 57c really high for running a program like prime?

can i kill my chip? remember my voltage is all default. and its only in prime that it gets that high

it passes prime too.

any help at all would be appreicated.

You linking skillz + your nick = ironic 😛

....Those temps are a little high, but I dont think high enough to worry.

i dont know how to make a image show here

i tried
and www

sorry for the incovenice

Generally for A64s it's considered to be about 55C IIRC, but you're only 2 degrees above that, and of course reporting can vary depending on what's being used to monitor it.

Nice OC on stock voltage, especially since it passes P95.

yea most people i asked said something along the lines of. "yea its running a little hot while your priming but its no big deal since your not priming every day. so as long as it boots good and plays games at good temps 120-130 then your fine"

is that accurate?

57 is not gonna kill your CPU. They can go as high as 80C. Prime is a super stressing program, your CPU temp is normal.

Wow- my system is indeed a testimant to the advantages of cleaning a system- my load temps are about 57-61C at stoick voltage and clock speeds Albeit, my house is being worked on, with oodles of dust.

If you didn't up the voltage, you really aren't doing alot of damage to the CPU. The CPU will probably still last a few years.

If it makes you feel any better, I've never had any of my AMD Athlons or Athlon XPs under 60C and they seem fine.

Hell, even during the summer my old 1.4Ghz Thunderbird used to hit 72C and above. 😎

Edit: None of my CPUs have ever crapped out on me before. They're all still in use, all of them at least 12+ hours / day.

do they reboot if they get to hot?

The power to the CPU is supposed to be cut at somewhere around 90-100C.

55-60C under load is not a problem. Heck, 80C under load is not even really a problem.
