Danger Den Water Cooling my system, Suggestions?

Hey guys ... so heres the plan ...

Here is my system...

-Lian Li VSilent PC-1100 II Plus Silver Aluminum ATX Mid Tower
-ASUS M2N-E Socket AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 Ultra MCP ATX Mobo
-Gigabyte X1900XTX
-ENERMAX Liberty ELT720AWT 620W PSU
-AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ Socket AM2
-Corsair XMS2 2Gb (2 x 1Gb) DDR2 800 TWINX2X2048-7400C4
-3x Seagate Barracuda ST3320620AS 320GB SATA 3.0Gb/s w/ Perpendiculer Recording in RAID 5
-Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic

This is my planned system.

NOW ...

I wana get the new Danger Den water block for socket AM2 + the Danger Den water block for the X1900XTX card with the extended bracket for the voltage regulators. I am also then going to get a resivour, radiator, tubing, and pump from DD. Looks like when all is said and done it will cost $200 dollars more then the cooling solutions i would use for air. (a Scythe Ninja MINE 1000 + a Zalman VF900 for the card)

so ...

How much quieter would that water cooling setup be, is it worth it, and any suggested parts that i should go with? thanks guys, get back to me

what radiator/pump, also if you plan on overclocking and or want the best temps possible the storm will be quite a bit better then any dangerden cpu block

if you arent going to overclock the watercooling could be realy quite (with a 120.2 or 120.3 radiator you could be almost silent, with a single fan radiator or an 80mm it wont be any (or at least not much) better then air in terms of noise)

Have you already bought all of these parts? (CPU, etc.)

Do you plan on overclocking (and/or, what are your watercooling goals.)

Ramzie,

Would agree with jk that the Storm CPU block will give better cooling and if you are then only cooling a single GPU you should be OK with a single 1/2" tubing loop and a DD5 pump.

Noise depends on fans you use on the radiator and other case fans to keep MB etc cool.

JK seems to have 7 powerful 38mm deep Panflo fans, so I hope he has the case in a separate room, as the noise must be high!

I have a triple radiator with 3 x Panflo 38mm (but lower 85cfm) fans, plus five other 120mm "noiseblocker" case fans and the panflo's don't make mine what I would call quiet, but I have two OC'd GPU's & and OC'd FX60 to cool, so I need lots of air through my one triple rad.

I would think you could get away with the same PA120.3 radiator, but use 3 x 120mm lower cfm fans and then the noise level will be nice and quiet.

The main noise advantage of water for me is the lack of "screaming" VGA fans when gaming. At idle the VGA fans and a good CPU cooler fans are lovely, but as soon as things heat up in games the XFX VGA fans go to high, as does the CPU cooler fans and the pitch/noise drive me nuts!

Your case will be important for what size radiator you purchase...that is a dual or triple 120mm radiator

Some suggestions:

Pump:
Iwaki MD20 $160
http://www.aquadirect.com/store/home.php?cat=239
HD20= Iwaki MD20 $110.. use 3/4in fittings so tubing will need to be larger
http://www.aquadirect.com/store/product.php?productid=495&cat=224&page=1
if they truly are MD20 pumps
DDC ultra modded $110
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/...roduct_info&cPath=201&products_id=4509 this pump performs as well as the Aquaxtreme 50z and MCP655/D5 or better with equal to better noise
MCP655 $80
http://www.jab-tech.com/Swiftech-MCP655-12-VDC-Pump-pr-2982.html
Aquaextreme 50z $75
http://www.cooltechnica.com/Merchant2/m...duct_Code=AQX-50Z-DC12&Category_Code=P

Cpu Block:
Storm rev 2 $80
http://www.jab-tech.com/Swiftech-Storm-Universal-Waterblock-Rev-2-pr-3022.html

Apogee $45.. also at jab tech ..less restrictive block for flow

Gpu block:
MCW60 w/ram sinks $60
http://www.jab-tech.com/Swiftech-MCW60-VGA-cooler-pr-3252.html
DD Maze 4 $42 but you need ram sinks
http://www.jab-tech.com/Low-Profile-Acetal-MAZE4-GPU-1-2-Barbs-pr-3262.html

Radiator:
HE 120.2 or PA120.2 ~ $100
http://www.jab-tech.com/120mm-Dual-c-257.html
Black Ice GT $43
http://www.dangerdenstore.com/home.php?cat=81
SwiftechMCR220 $43
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/...ain_page=product_info&products_id=3653

tubing
Masterkleer(50cents a foot) or tygon($2 foot) 7/16internal dia and 5/8 outer diameter
http://www.jab-tech.com/Masterkleer-Tubing-7-16-ID-5-8-OD-pr-3079.html

http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/ty7id5odlatu.html

I would recommend 1/2" barbs(less restrictive) and worm drive clamps(these help secure the tubing to the barbs), fans, teflon tape

Coolant I use Distilled water and Zerex racing coolant(small amount) not the antifreeze...I use no other additives or dyes..which could clog my Storm rev 2...it has small "jets" that can clog easily

Additives:
HdryX $4
http://www.frozencpu.com/ex-liq-02.html?id=54DTxWw9

this is designed for WCing setups...Hardwarrior's experiences indicates that iti s more approriate for WC but you need to use properly dilution..which is easy and implicitly stated
