DANGER! Asbestos warnings at my work.

I honestly don't know, but I think the tarp is usually just added protection, because most of the time asbestos work is done with these massive vacuums that suck up anything that even gets slightly airborn.
 
From what it looks like, everything conforms with OSHA standards. Stop worrying. They're required to notify you that there is an abatement going on. Only thing extra I'd ask for would be outside air monitoring to ensure a sealed environment but usually it's not required.
