No, they're desperate. About the only thing keeping them afloat right now is their DSL product. Carriers can't hardly give away land lines anymore.
 
SBC makes more then enough from telephone bills, their not trying to profit from DSL all that much thought. Their new package 3mbit/384k for 44.95 is a steal!
