I have $500 overdraft protection, so Im fee free!!!

see I didnt get that. Im just a dumb college kid and didnt think I needed it. I ended up paying ~230 in overdraft fees. Needless to say I almost went off on the lady. It was a long story but 6 of the fees wernt my fault. I should have had to only paid 30.

Lemme guess...something like $70 in your bank account, you make 6 $10 purchases and then one $80 purchase, and they hit you with an overdraft fee for each transaction?

I did something like that once...the difference between "balance" and "available balance" wasn't clear to me, and I made a purchase and deposited a check at around the same time. Through some weird bank magic I got hit with an overdraft fee, which pushed me under $0, and that caused a second overdraft fee. Luckily, they dropped it when I explained, and ever since then I've made it a point of knowing exactly how much is in my account.

We all do it once.
