Rumors are Nintendo is holding back supply until this quarter finishes. Apparently they made their sales targets and are pushing the bulk of it into next years numbers.

Shipments should start rolling out April 1st with it hitting retail shelves less than week later.

Even if that's true, it's still amazing that they've sold over 5 million consoles in 4-5 months. That's a quarter of all the Gamecubes that have been sold worldwide up to 2007 and a fifth of all the Xbox's sold. So I don't think it's hard to say that they haven't been slacking in the supply department.

I was at an EB Games store today (East Towne Mall, Madison WI), and the clerk said that they hadn't received any Wii's in three weeks, and weren't expecting any more for at least two more weeks.

I've been looking for one since launch day. 🙁

Check Shopko on the east side, I am still waiting, but most people don't think to try there. The EB on State gets a weekly shipment of about 5-6 but they are gobbled up by the students.

I'd rather pay $45 than $60.

wii games shouldn't cost more than $40, tops. it's not like they are putting mind blowing graphics in the games they develop.

I don't know if this is still happening, but when I asked back in January, they told me that people are literally waiting for the UPS guy and following him in and asking about Wiis and immediately buying any that are there at the one on state street. Pretty hilarious. I guess there's some decent restaurants nearby so you could always grab some grub beforehand...

In Jan, I was waiting in line at a TRU for 3 hours on the rumour of the store getting some Wii. I gave up after 3 hrs, others stayed. The next day I went back to the TRU and the sales guy told me the people stayed anther 3 before giving up. There was no Wii.

I'll take subpar Rayman graphics over any mind-blowing PS3 Games any day of the week.

You pay $60 for a game that has 10 hours of play time and you are making comments on graphics? IMHO, I'd rather play my games then watch the extremely sharp looking credits.
