And I gotta have the voltage at 1.775 at that. I have a A7N8X Rev.2 PCB 1.06 thats been fantastic with my previous chip a regular 2500 I had at 2.2ghz. I know its a "H" revision, so that might have something to do with it. I also have a Thermaltake Volcano 11+ on it with Arctic Silver 5 so I doubt coolings an issue. Temp is 39c right now. Anything else I can do? Or have I just got one that won't go any further...

so your only at 1.775V and your complaing about ONLY 2.4 ghz. that is quite good for that voltage. if you need more speed and the 39c temp is load crank it up too 1.85 as long as your temps stay under 50c you'll be fine.

My mobo only goes to 1.825 :( I tried it, but it would reboot itself...

hmm....that bites....I guess i'm grateful I can go all the way up to 2.2V now I have never used more than 2.1 though

still 2.4ghz is still a good OC

its rebooting at 1.825, too much heat for the overclock. you'll probably need better cooling but don't expect to get a whole lot further.

No he doesn't need better cooling, @ 39 celsius its fine even if he cranks it up to 1.825. 2.4ghz is still an above average overclock. The chip probably just hit its ceiling.

since when do we trust thermal diodes? :)

Typically with the mobiles, once you reach 2.4ghz, it takes an arm and a leg voltage wise to get to the next level, ie 2.5ghz, which was what he wanted. Going from 1.775v to 1.825v isn't going to cut it. He's going to need probably 1.875v to do it. A bit high for 2.5ghz, but manageable with his temps, assuming they are correct.

2.1V??? Wow!

But you're on water, so I guess that's ok. Let us know how long your chip lives for :D

An overclock to 2.4ghz is very good for a cpu which is rated for 1.8, however I have my iqyha xp2500 mobile running at 2.5Ghz using 1.75! :)

2.4 is kicking. I wouldn't loose sleep over 100mhz that was a shot in the dark anyway.

LOL. Only 2.4? Thats pretty darn good. Try 1.85V. Cuz your temps are still low, 1.85 is still an acceptable voltage.

Yeah, I guess I'll live! ITs rock solid at 2.4 anyway, I guess I can hold onto this for a while then turn it into a server or something in 6 months or so....

Heh, consider yourself lucky. My 2400+ Mobile can only do 2.2GHz @ 1.75v, and its not even completely stable at that! I have a feeling that either my PSU or my mobo is doing something funky which is preventing me from going any higher, though.
