Hey guys,

Where can I get a good solid Dance Dance Revolution pad for the PSOne? Any good places online (or places in NYC) that you have actually bought from? Do these things last for a while or are they usually cheap knock offs? Thanks!

Most of them are not worth your money. The only home pads I would probably think about recommending are the ones from Red Octane.
Any pad made by Topway or another third party just flat out SUCK. The hard pads with the round buttons are the worst.

If you want to go the cheapie route, get the cheapest ones you can and duct tape them to an appropritely sized sheet of plywood so they will stop sliding.

Going to start to build my own soon (I hope). It'll be much sturdier than any soft pad you can buy on the market. From what i've read, its 99% as good as the pad in the arcades.

Better than 99% or as good as arcade. That all depends on how good u r and how well u can tell the diff.

RedOctane has great pads though. You can try DDRFreak for more info though.

Redoctane pads are good. you can't go wrong.

Check on ebay for DDR pads. don't buy them in stores. eBay is THE BEST way to get pads, i kid thee not.

I've bought literally dozens of pads on ebay, and it's great!

on ebay i would look up "dance revolution hard pad"

Hmm... have a link to a guide on how to do this? I'd be interested... Are there any "solid" pads for sale?

EDIT: wow... I just went to ddrfreak.com and there is a huge thread on some guy who built his own solid metal pad... interesting.

Yep, there is like a 97 page thread on the topic. I'm currently in the process of reading the entire thing.

And yes, you can buy a metal pad from like Ebay or something, but from what i've read, it seems that its close to a 50% failure rate. For some people it works without problems, and for others, they have a ton of problems with it. And on top of that, they seem to cost about $150 each plus $45 shipping. So it just seems better to build my own.

I wouldn't buy the Red Octane pads. Their fine but overpriced. I have this bundle from BuyNShop who carries a ton of DDR stuff. My pads a larger than the average pads and have a nice thick pad inside.

Check out the forums at DDRFreak for many mod ideas and pad/game reviews. I want to get a metal pad like this one sometime.
