Well, I was thinking if I was buying 40 (forty) of them maybe they'd give me a volume discount. 😉😱

Wow! I checked out the price link. Lotta dough. BUT! They do come with TWO built in 10/100 WOL ports!

Guess I'll stick to my Cel-566@850-on-Tekram-mobo-in-mATX-case crackrack dreams for now!

BTW, just passed 1000 blocks total!

Thanks for the offer Dan but the Mkey/sec/$ ratio of the ProLiant DL360 is a little high for me - though the coolness factor of having that much power in one compact rack does give one pause. And, of course, after RC5 is done I could open a small web hosting business...

Sigh... I guess I'll have to wait to be put in charge of a datacenter's budget. 😉
 
It doesn't have to be a 1u solution! I have 6 4u rack systems here at my house that work just fine - heat hasn't been a problem, even with dual-boards in each box.
 
I will agree there, DanC!

My workplace just got in a pair of DL360's(Dual 733 each) and a DL380(dual 933). We'll be using the 360's for a Domain Controller and Proxy Server, while the 380 will be doing Citrix MetaFrame. I really wish my boss would let me put SETI on 'em, but alas the answer has been no.

Maybe when he goes on vacation...
