Looks SO insane.

I'm a pretty decent climber and I'd definately fancy my chances at climbing that. BUT no f0cking way in hell would I dream of doing it without a dam rope!

That guy is SERIOUSLY ballsy.

ironically, he was using a rope

death

i believe the cause was later attributed to the fact that he had left his ropes there overnite and they had become damp and frozen which destroyed their integrity.

He died at the age of 35 after a controlled free-fall jump from a rock pillar called Leaning Tower in Yosemite National Park.

At Yosemite Park he jumped off a 1200 foot tall cliff, but instead of using a bungy cord he decided to use a safety rope. The rope snaped and he died.

Pfft... if you practice on the same rock face day in and day out, you can work to achieve something spectacular. Granted, he's really talented but this video is the culmination of years and years of climbing the same surface. He knows all the holds and makes it look very impressive. And damn, it is impressive... but it's also misleading.

I still wish I could do that :)

hell yeah!

A move like that is called a 'dyno'. I do these quite often when I'm climbing. Most of the time they serve a purpose as to get to a part where I couldn't had I not dynoed. But more often then not it just looks cool :p

It isn't misleading imo. The crazy feat is the NO ROPE part and the 400ft in sub 5minutes part also.

Aren't most things a culmination of years and years of practice?

So impressed with that video

I'm going to bust some walls when my back is ready to climb.
