I bought a refurb Dell Trinitron monitor through dell, and it has two lines through it, about one pixel wide. One's about 1/4 down from the top, and the other about 1/4 up from the bottom. i contacted Dell's tech support and they say they're Dampire Wires and every trinitron monitor has them. I've never heard of this, and can't find anything on google. Is this true, or just some bull shit?
here's the email they sent me:

Hi,
These are called dampire wires and are unfortunately present in all Trintron monitors.
Thank you.

I had ordered a 17" Dell Trinitron, and today received it. I set it up, and it appears to have to rows of dead pixels, one approximately 1/4 of the way down from the top, and the other about the same distance up from the bottom. Is there a way to remedy this, or will the monitor need to be replaced? Other than that, the monitor is working fine, and the picture is crisp. I am running it at 1024x768 on a Geforce 2 video card. Refresh rate is set to 75 Hz. my last monitor did not have this problem, thus the fault is not in my video card.
Thank you,
