So I hook up my good ole TomTom GO 510 (got it on woot ages ago) to see about getting some European maps for my imminent move...

$99.95 for Western and Central European maps... WTF?!

I'm tempted to just go out and buy a new GPS, but then I realized I'd have to get the European maps for those as well...

crapstick I say! Because I know I'll probably end up paying for the maps.

I have this if you really are looking to upgrade since it's pretty cheap and has US and European maps.

does Garmin provide a free update/corrections or two for their maps when you first buy the unit?
