Make sure you didn't sign a damage waiver or anything like that. If you did, you may not have any recourse. If you did sign one and didn't realize what you were signing, you've just learned a valuable life lesson. Read everything before you sign on the line.

Just re-read the front and back of what I signed. They didn't waive their damage liability and I'm pretty sure that would be illegal in CA anyway. CA is a VERY consumer-rights oriented state.

I called and supposedly the Assistant Manager in charge of the shop will be able to help me tonight. I'm sure what I'll hear is "How do we know that scratch wasn't caused before or after you brought it in?" and "You'll have to talk to the manager." which is why I wanted to know if the manager was going to be in tonight in the first place *sigh*. Oh well. I'll update tonight after I get back from CC, assuming I don't have to work until after 8:00 tonight.

That sucks dude. But really the damage does not look terrible. You made it sound like they gouged out your dashboard horribly, and scratched the heck out of your bumper. You have to look real hard to notice it. But anyhow, I would never let anyone install something like a stereo in my car when it's easy enough to do it yourself. Just go to Crutchfield.com or SoundDomain.com and get the mounting kit you need and the adapter for the wiring harness and do it yourself. The hardest part of the whole thing would be running the power wire and rcas for your amp and subs if you got them. Next time do it yourself.

Um, re-read my post. No-where in there do I hype up the damage in any way, in fact I plainly state "The pry marks aren't major but there are three of them (the one along the top edge isn't very visible though)" and the only real description of the scratch is that it's 1/4" long and down to the plastic, which it is. So maybe YOU hyped it up in your head for some wierd reason, but I didn't.

As for having to "look real hard", I noticed the scratch by chance while opening the trunk at night under a street lamp. That's not exactly looking real hard. As I stated before, if I had done the damage myself I wouldn't have considered it a big deal and I doubt I would've done much to fix it.

simply purchase a firearm, walk into the store and light the management team up for poor communication skills regarding the staff.

LOl I notice they don't even list horsepower on the 2.0

I was under the impression it was a god value as well, however by the time you get it to where the care is worth buying, you can afford to lease an RSX Type-S for just about the same price.

I hate hyundai.. they lure you in with cheap base models, then you realize that to make a car that compares to the commpetition they charge just as much or more.

Top of the line Tiburon = $21237
Comparible RSX = $24161

And I personally think the Acura is bland. The Tiburon is much better looking and $3k less. On top of that it's a 4 cylinder with 142 lb-ft of torque, compared to a 6 cylinder at 181 lb-ft of torque. Sure it has 29 more hp but that's at 7400 RPM, ack.

So, all said, I'd rather drive the Tiburon even at an equal price. Although at that price the Eclipse GTS would probably be the best deal.

I agree. I have an Elantra and just bought a Santa Fe for my wife. They are great, affordable cars.

Before I checked out the Tiburon, I was pretty anti-Hyundai and Kia myself, so I understand where they're coming from. :) I'm still kinda anti-Hyundai and Kia, I'm just pro my car. :p

Another happy Hyundai Elantra GT owner....

Buddy at work has a Santa Fe.....

I'm used to the crap from folks who are so uptight about driving something besides a Honda with a bunch of stickers on their bumper for added horsepower!

It's a Hyundia, get used to scratches.

Watch out though, I have a friend that had a Tiburon and she got into a bad accident and the airbags never came out when the trigger was pushed in all the way, now Hyundia is buying her a Mercedes.

The fact that you took pictures and are making such a big stink about this tells me that you're over reacting. Seems to me your are trying to invoke our sympathy over a couple of marks on your dashboard and a ding on your bumper and it seems like you are blowing this way out of proportion. My point was if you're that worried about anything happening to your car, you should have done it yourself. Why didn't you?

It's a new car... i would raise hell for this too. Besides... those guys are being paid to do their job right. Even if he should have done it himself to be 110% safe... those guys arent being paid to do a half-assed job.
