Was making some guacamole for dip and accidentally put in double the amount of salt I was supposed to (damn my bad short term memory).

Anything I can do short of running to the store to buy a few more avocados?

well they say potassium helps flush out sodium, so maybe mash up a banana in there.

Please don't burn the forum down. If you feel the urge to burn something, try that cookbook thread.

Wait, you follow a recipe for making guacamole? :) Do you also read the directions when making jello, chocolate milk and smores?

How do you make it? Just throw an avacado at a bowl?

I made some excellent salsa the other day.

But ya, I hate it when you put to much salt in. Its pretty much unusable after that.

That's one way but, generally I taste things as I go along rather that just dumping ingredients together and grimacing at the end result. I'm just wondering why cooking seems to be labeled as a black art or, too much effort?

Maybe add some lemon or lime juice to it?

I can't imagining that working, but I'll try it out on a small amount and see if it helps

Didn't follow a recipe per-say, but i do have steps that are just habit. ie. normally when I make guac, it goes avocados->onions->cilantro->salt/pepper. However, this time it went avocadoes -> notice that the salt shaker is already out, so add salt, then put shaker away -> onions -> cilantro -> instinctively grab salt shaker out again.

edit: its too late to go out shopping again so ill have to wait till tomorrow to get more avocados -_-'
