Damned dental work

So, I had my first cavity. Then I got it drilled and filled. Now that tooth is really sensitive. Whenever anything even slightly cold or that has carbonation touches it, it causes pain.

This is not normal, right?

Is it an amalgam (metal) or composite (white stufF) filling?

It's normal. It will get less sensitive but it takes a long time.

yes it will be sensitive for awhile, but it should subside. call your dentist and ask if what you are feeling is normal. it may have been a deep cavity and close to the nerve so it's more sensitive.
