I just started watching Death Note last night, when I decided I wanted to get a bit of background info on the show. So i go to Wikipedia and start reading up on it. Sure enough i get near the middle of the article and find stuff about the character I didn't want to know. GAH! I just started episode 5 too. :(

Lesson learned.

OP edited to exlude spoilers. sorry folks.

Serves you right, why would you go to a wiki page to read about a show and not expect spoilers?

You want wikipedia to start including spoiler warnings, but don't do so yourself...

Lol, my suggestion is to not read anything in the "Plot" area :p Because it gives you the whole "plot" similar to a play, in other words, the whole thing, start to finish.

But regardless, many people probably had the assumption that Keira would die in the end, especially in a storyline such as his, but it doesn't make the anime any less good IMO. And you'll forget about it all when you meet Misa :D

I actually just watched the last episode of Death Note yesterday. Thank goodness or I would have been pissed at you OP. Have some common sense and don't go to Wikipedia to read up on a show you're in the middle of watching.

SPOILERS:::::

I already knew he would die before I started reading it :( I tried to remain ignorant of the fact, though. But I mean, in terms of storylines, there's a very slim chance of him actually succeeding and becoming the "god of a new world". It just doesn't happen in stories.

END SPOILERS

Yeah, Wiki no longer includes the spoiler warning. Kinda sucks because I always forget.
